Pete, Williams arrested in Jeff Davis Parish

On Sunday, April 11, Jeff Davis Sheriff’s deputies assisted Jennings Police and Lake Charles police in apprehension of subjects in a stolen vehicle.
A vehicle that was reported stolen traveling on Interstate 10 east exited at exit 65 and traveled reckless thru Jennings at speeds over 100 mph. The driver crashed into another car at La. 102 and Zigler Memorial Drive, just south of Interstate 10. An occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained from the crash.
Deputies, Jennings Police, and Lake Charles police then attempted to locate two suspects who fled on foot running from the crash scene and hiding in the wooded area east of the Jennings Walmart store. Both subjects were eventually captured and booked into the parish jail.
Kendall Jamal Pete, 21, of 2481 2nd Street, Ville Platte, was charged with aggravated flight from an officer, illegal possession of stolen things, and resisting arrest and was booked on an out of parish warrant from Evangeline.
Markentae Decoriyan Williams, 19, of 1067 Shorty Lane, Mamou, was charged with illegal possession of stolen things and resisting arrest and was booked on an outstanding warrant from Opelousas. Both were booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail with no bond.
Anfernee Deandre Eduard Record, 25, of 517 Maple Street, Mamou was released on citation for possession of marijuana.
Additional arrests and charges are expected from Calcasieu parish.
