MPD recovers several stolen motorcycles

The Mamou Police Department recently recovered several stolen motorcycles which resulted in the arrest of Cody Andre Peloquin.
According to Mamou Chief of Police Brent Zackery, Peloquin was arrested after he led law enforcement officers on a high speed chase that began on La. Hwy. 13 near Seaburry Rd.
The chief stated, that during the chase, Peloquin reached a speed of 113 miles per hour before the chase came to an end just south of Deculas Rd.
The stolen motorcycles were found hidden in a pasture.
Peloquin was arrested on February 8, 2019, and charged with two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of stolen motorcycles, two counts of theft, maximum speed and reckless operation.
According to Chief Zackery, Peloquin’s arrest stems from an ongoing investigation. He also said more arrests are expected to be made in connection with these crimes because they believe Peloquin is a part of a theft ring.
Along with the arrest of Peloquin, several other arrests have been made by the Mamou Police Department. Those arrests are as follows:
• Jimmy Cocker, 203 East Street, Mamou, was arrested on January 18, 2019, for possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Soloman Guillory, Jr., 1914 Marshall Frank Drive, Ville Platte, was arrested on January 29, 2019, for possession of a schedule I CDS, possession of a schedule II CDS and possession of a schedule III CDS.
• Ferrel Allemand, was arrested on February 4, 2019, for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule II CDS.
• Alex Granger, was arrested on February 8, 2019, for accessory after the fact and felony theft.
• Dakota Ball, was arrested on January 28, 2019, for cruelty to juveniles eight years old or under.
• Lauren Naquin, was arrested on January 28, 2019, for cruelty to juveniles eight years old or under.
