The Mamou Town Council met Wednesday to approve the amended budget, adopted revised policies and procedures for the town’s administrative operations, and adopted a sexual harassment policy.
Mamou Police Chief Brent Zachary, in his police report, said there were 109 complaints in November, which include 15 arrests, nine of which were criminal arrests. There were six accidents and 83 citations issued. The council approved the chief’s recommendation of hiring two patrolmen.
Randy Young was reappointed to the Mamou Fire Protection District No. 1 Board. Councilman Robin Young abstained from the vote because he is Randy Young’s brother, and Lisa Deshotel also abstained because she sits on the Fire District Board.
