Happy, happy, joy, joy! Our webpage, www.evangelinelibrary.org, is up and running again! Please take a look at it for updates – especially our calendar feature. Pair this resource with our almost daily Facebook posts full of photos and flyers about events going on around the parish, and you will always be know what’s going on at the library!
The featured program this week at the main library in Ville Platte is Thursday, May 6, when we will have the Brilliant Butterflies kids program (ages 0-7) to work on crafts for Mother’s Day.
Regular programs going on around the parish:
Basile Branch Library: French Coffee Talk on Tuesdays twice a month.
Mamou Branch Library: Coffee and Conversation every Monday and Friday, 8 – 9 a.m. and Bingo every Wednesday 9 -11 a.m.
Pine Prairie Branch Library: Our Coffee Club every Monday - Friday morning from 8 - 9 a.m.
New items ready to be checked out now: For the traveling public, here are a few audio book titles: “Old Bones” by Preston & Child, “In the Deep” by Loreth Ann White, “Wyoming True” by Diana Palmer, “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, “The Complete New King James Bible,” and “Spanish” by Living Languages. For the self-educators, here are some new books from The Dummies Series about “Raising Goats,” “Beekeeping,” “Birds,” “Charcuterie,” and “Homeschooling” to name a few.
Early Notice: Monday, May 24, to Wednesday, May 26, registration for the 2021 Summer Reading Program at main and all branches begins. May 26 at 10:30 a.m. the Mystery Book Club will meet to discuss their new book, “The Coffee Dancer” by Jeffery Deaver. New members are welcome to attend.
Memorial Day holiday closures: Saturday, May 29, at the main library and Monday, May 31, for all libraries. Tuesday, June 1, Summer Reading programs begin!
