Programs this month at the main library in Ville Platte. Please note that we are once again opened until 8 p.m. on Tuesday nights to accommodate students and the working public.
April 17 at 9:30 a.m. The Evangeline Genealogical and Historical Society will meet. This is their first meeting in over a year! The public is invited to attend.
April 19 at noon and 3 p.m. A Medicare Education Seminars will be offered by Tony Palombo to the public free of charge and again on April 20 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. (Masks will be required along with social distancing measures). They will also be available again in May.
April 20 at 4:30 p.m. The Friends of the Library will meet. This is their first meeting in over a year. Please spread the word that the public is invited to attend.
April 28 at 10:30 a.m. The Mystery Book Club will meet to discuss their new book. New members are welcome to attend.
Every Monday at 3:30 p.m. The French Table meets.
Every Thursday at 1 p.m. The Quilters meet. We extend a big thank you to Janelle Tate and Jeanette Vidrine for their recent donations of fabric for the club’s use!
Our branches also have lots of programs going on so please visit our Facebook page for program dates and times. At this point, we are still posting the most current information about all of the good things going on at the main library and all branches on our Facebook page (Evangeline library) since our Webpage is still being worked on.
Reminder: April is Child Abuse Awareness month, and we have partnered with CASA to offer a month of virtual storytelling via our Facebook page to support their efforts. Please share this good news and the Facebook videos also! Additionally, CASA & SLESAC are hosting a Community Crime Abuse and Prevention Walk at the Chataignier Gula Miller Waling Park on Saturday, April 17 at 10 a.m. (registration begins at 9 a.m.). The public is invited to participate.
