As our parish moves into a more normal state of operations, we would like to hear from our patrons about the services we offered in the past, the services you would like us to offer in the future, or any areas we can improve in. On your next visit to your branch, please pick up a survey, fill it out, and return it. This is an anonymous survey and serves as your opportunity to let us know how we are doing and how we can best serve your needs as 2021 unfolds.
Kuddos to staff member Tina Davis who is doing a super job keeping patrons up to date on what’s going on at the main library and all branches with daily posts on our Facebook Page (Evangeline Parish Library). This month, she not only promoted our regular online story hours with staff members Keshia and Kelsey, but she also highlighted special events such as March being National Literacy Month, events at our main and branch libraries for all ages ranging from storytelling to crafting, promotions such as “World Storytelling Day” and ”Write your Story Day,” Mystery Book Club info, program information, board agendas, closure notices and just so much more! Please take a look and share it with friends and family!
At the main library, the Books & Beyond Teen Club will meet on Wednesday, March 31 to create cool bracelets. New members are welcomed to join in too! “Take and Make” crafts continue to be available too. The Brilliant Butterflies children’s group meet for story hour the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m., and they always have “Take and Make” crafts that kids can pick up.
The French Tables at main and Basile are alive and well! Join in if you’re in Ville Platte every Monday at 3:30 p.m. or, if you are in Basile, they meet every other Tuesday. The next one is March 30 at 9 a.m.
New at the Mamou Branch Library is a weekly “Coffee and Conversation” opportunity every Monday and Friday at 8 a.m. The public is invited to join in.
