Good news! Beginning this month, the main library and all branches will return to their regular operating hours and resume programming! We must still require wearing masks and practicing social distancing, but, at least, we can gather again! Specifically, the main library in Ville Platte will be opened on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Basile branch hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Chataignier branch hours: Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Mamou branch hours: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Pine Prairie branch hours Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Turkey Creek branch hours Tuesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The programming that will resume at Main is the French Table on Mondays at 3 p.m., Quilting on Thursdays at 1 p.m., and the Mystery Book Club the last Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. The kids story hour, Brilliant Butterflies, will take place the first Thursday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m. with the Take and Make crafts continuing all month. The Teen program, Books and Beyond, will be the last Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. with the Take and Make crafts continuing all month. The programming that will resume in the Basile branch library- French Table every other Tuesday at 10 a.m. and their Children’s Storytime every other Tuesday at 10 a.m. The programming that is new in the Mamou Branch library is Storytime with Granny on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Coffee time in the mornings. Pine Prairie library will have Coffee time every morning and Wednesday Bingo with prizes from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
