At a Men Who Wait on Women Who Wine event recently held in Opelousas, Evangeline Parish Superintendant of Schools and Pastor of Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte received the Man with Heart Award.
“I am truly honored to be the 2019 recipient of the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Man with Heart Award from Evangeline Parish,” Lazard said in a statement.
He continued as follows: “While I am sure there are many other great candidates who could have been selected, I am humbled to be recognized by such an outstanding community organization as the United Way. I’m especially grateful for the Women United Committee which chose me.”
“I pledge to continue serving my Evangeline Parish community and living up to the wonderful ideals, which this award embodies, in my quest to provide education for the mind and religion for the heart!”
The award was given to a man from St. Landry and a man from Evangeline Parishes in recognition for their “generous and compassionate heart and community engagement,” according to information from St. Landry-Evangeline United Way.
