Horace Johnson, a 12-year employee of the Ville Platte City Marshal’s office, has announced his candidacy for the position on the April ballot.
In his announcement, Johnson said the following:
“I, Horace Johnson, am pleased to announce my candidacy for Ward 1 City Marshal. It is my belief that public services should come with honesty, professionalism, and dedication to all!”
“I am a dedicated husband to my wife, Toamasina Johnson, an honest father of four, a grandfather, and a mentor to Evangeline Parish residents, young and old, especially in the City of Ville Platte, where I live.
My experience as Deputy Marshal over the past 12 years is evidence of my proven keys to be successful with my qualifications to be your next City Marshal. Working cooperatively with the local Judges, District Attorneys, Investigators and local Law Enforcement agencies on a day to day basis has provided me with the proven knowledge necessary to be your City Marshal. I am experienced in both Civil and Criminal law. I developed and established the first Deputy Marshal Reserves organization, to provide extra security for all.
I believe in being a good servant for our community and professional mentor to children, who are our future. I am asking for your prayers and your support to become your Ward 1 City Marshal.
