The Ville Platte Gazette will publish free announcements for candidates in the November 6, 2018 election.
The announcements are biographical only and limited to 400 words. They may contain general platform objectives but no references to other candidates. That material should be included in paid political advertising.
A free announcement will only be printed for a candidate one time.
Announcements and a photo of the candidate are due by September 6, 2018. Any announcements submitted after the deadline will have to run as a paid ad.
All announcements submitted by the deadline will be printed on the front page, with no more than two announcements running at the same time.
Announcements and photos may be submitted by sending them via email to editor@evangelinetoday.com, or they can be dropped off at The Gazette office located at 145 Court St. in Ville Platte.
All candidates will be able to select the date that they would like their announcement to run. Please have your selected date printed on the announcement, and also a contact number.
No statements are published after the publication date closest to one week before absentee voting opens. The final publication date will be October 14, 2018.
