Sheriff Eddie Soileau, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office has released the following:
Sunday, December 22, 2019 Deputies were dispatched out to the 1900 block of Alec Street in Mamou, LA in reference to an unauthorized entry. Upon arrival Deputies discovered a white male subject standing near a parked vehicle. The male subject was later identified as Joseph Fuselier who was wanted by East Baton Rouge and Acadia Parishes. Fuselier recently escaped from the custody of East Baton Rouge Correctional Facility staff on November 24, 2019. Fuselier was assigned to a Work Release program when he managed to escape.
Fuselier was detained, arrested, then transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he was booked on the following charges: Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession of Stolen Things. The Affidavit and Warrant of Arrest was signed by 13th Judicial Judge Chuck West. The bond was set at $85,000.00. A hold was place on Fuselier for East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
