The individual Teachers of the Year from Evangeline Schools have been announced. The teachers attended a special workshop at the Evangeline Parish School Board Technology Building on Wednesday, October 28, and will now advance to compete each other in a rigourous competition on the district level. The district winner, in each division, will then head to regional and a possible state competition.
The following are the school winners:
Elementary Division- Chelsie Soileau, Bayou Chicot; Jaime Johnson, Chataignier; Danica Prudhomme, James Stephens Montessori; Lacie Soileau, Mamou; Jennifer Scott, Pine Prairie; Brandi Marcantel, Vidrine; Anita Vidrine, Ville Platte; Jade Doucet, W.W. Stewart.
Junior High- Todd Crowe, Basile; Erica L. Fontenot, Bayou Chicot; Kayla Joseph, Chataignier; Delle Fontenot, Evangeline Central; Julie Guillory, James Stephens Montessori; Holly Denise Atchinson, Mamou; Alice Pitre, Vidrine; Louisa Soileau, Ville Platte Elementary; Sarah Manuel, Ville Platte High.
High School Division- Christina LeJeune, Basile; Helen Patrick, Mamou; Kelly Dunagan, Pine Prairie; Carmen Faul, Ville Platte.
