The Evangeline Parish School Board will host its annual district-wide Parent Meeting at the Ville Platte North Side Civic Center on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 10 a.m. The board’s focus of actively involving all parents, families, communities, schools, and agencies has led to the event’s theme, “FACEBOOK” (Family and Community Engagements Build Overwhelmingly Outstanding Knowledge).
Parents and families will be presented information designed to strengthen the effectiveness and improve the quality of education in Evangeline Parish. Organizations will provide resources, information, and outside services that cultivate families’ interest in supporting their children’s education. These organizations will speak to participants inspiring them to love life and learning, to persevere through life’s challenges, and to share their gifts with others.
Booth participants (government agencies and local businesses) will provide free educational, academic, and community services to all stakeholders.
“It’s no secret that positive parental engagement is an integral part of a successful educational framework, said Parent Involvement Coordinator Grace Vidrine Sibley. “Designed to increase the levels of family engagement, Evangeline Parish School District’s Title I department will bring together many community partners to offer a range of supports and opportunities to help children and youth succeed academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.”
Anyone interested in donating toward this meaningful educational event may send checks or donations to Pauline Toussaint, EPSB Media Center, 607 Harvey LeBas Rd., Ville Platte. Those who want to donate cash prizes or have questions may call Grace Vidrine Sibley, EPSB Parent Involvement Supervisor at 337-363-7455.
