The Evangeline Parish School Board will host its annual district-wide Parent Meeting at the Ville Platte North Side Civic Center on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 10 a.m. The board’s focus of actively involving all parents, families, communities, schools, and agencies has led to the event’s theme, “FACEBOOK” (Family and Community Engagements Build Overwhelmingly Outstanding Knowledge).
Parents and families will be presented information designed to strengthen the effectiveness and improve the quality of education in Evangeline Parish. Organizations will provide resources, information, and outside services that cultivate families’ interest in supporting their children’s education. These organizations will speak to participants inspiring them to love life and learning, to persevere through life’s challenges, and to share their gifts with others.
Booth participants (government agencies and local businesses) will provide free educational, academic, and community services to all stakeholders.
“Numerous studies have identified parent engagement as a critical factor affecting the success of individual students and the school environment,” said Parent Involvement Supervisor Grace Vidrine Sibley. “As a result, during our district meeting, EPSB will focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement to improve student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.”
