Early voting numbers continue to rise

As was the case last month for the Gubernatorial Primary Election, early voting numbers continue to rise in Evangeline Parish for November 16’s Gubernatorial General Election.
The total number of early votes as of Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. is 1,862, according to the Evangeline Parish Registrar of Voter’s Office.
Early voting continues at the registrar’s office until Saturday, November 9.
On the ballot are races for governor, secretary of state, sheriff, police juror in district 1, police juror in district 7, and several tax renewals.
Running for governor are incumbent John Bel Edwards and Republican challenger Eddie Rispone, and running for secretary of state is incumbent Kyle Ardoin and Democrat challenger Gwen Collins Greenup.
In the sheriff’s election are Charles Guillory and Brian Ardoin. Incumbent Police Juror Rocky Rider is running against challenger Keith Saucier in District 1, and incumbent Police Juror Bryan Vidrine is running against challenger David Ortego in District 7.
Three of the four tax renewals are in the Village of Pine Prairie, and the other is in the Eunice Gravity Drainage District Number 9.
