Early voting for the proposed one-cent sales tax began Saturday, April 10. Over the first three days of early voting, 198 parish residents cast their vote at the Registrar of Voter’s Office. One hundred twenty-two of those voters were from Ward 1, 5 came from Ward 2, 30 came from Ward 3, 22 came from Ward 4, and 19 came from Ward 5.
The early voting period continues until Saturday, April 17, at 6 p.m. For more information, call the registrar’s office at 363-5538.
Election Day for the tax proposal is Saturday, April 24.
