Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 9th of November 2020 Criminal patrol deputies observed a black Buick Roadmaster run a stop sign on beech street. Deputies activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then took off at a high rate of speed, leading deputies on a short pursuit. While fleeing from deputies the occupants of the vehicle could be seen throwing items from it. The vehicle was eventually stopped and the driver and passenger were detained. The vehicle was then searched for weapons and illegal narcotics, which led to the following charges.
