Chief Neal Lartigue reports investigation of bomb threat

On Monday, December 7, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm, Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department were dispatched to a local convenience store on Tate Cove Road in reference to a bomb threat. Upon arrival the building and parking lot were evacuated. The Ville Platte Fire Department, Louisiana State Police (Troop I) and hazmat were notified.

The building was searched and the all clear was given for the business to reopen. Chief Neal Lartigue stated that the incident in under investigation.
