Chataignier Village Hall is open, says mayor

Chataignier Mayor Justin Darbonne, during the council meeting held Monday, September 21, reported village hall is back open to the public. Mayor Darbonne asks the residents to wear a mask when entering. He went on to say, “If you know you’re running sick, please don’t come for everybody’s health.”
Earlier in the meeting, the council voted to adopt an ordinance to sell lots of the Gula Miller Property along Church St. The lots run varying sizes from 1.10 to 2.44 acres. Anyone wishing to purchase a lot or lots should get a map, the specifications, and prices at village hall.
In other business, the council approved the purchase of a cross drain to be installed by the Evangeline Parish Police Jury at the corner of Charles Armand St. and 1st St.
