I, Ricky Fontenot, am pleased to announce my candidacy for re-election for Mayor of the Town of Mamou.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as Mayor of the Town of Mamou for the past eight years. Having the support of all stakeholders allowed the Town officials and staff to work diligently for all of its citizens. We have addressed individual and collective concerns brought to our attention according to policies and ordinances:
The following are a few of the significant accomplishments and ongoing projects of this administration.
•Ongoing efforts to maintain the health and safety of the community.
•Successfully negotiated an agreement with Christus Healthcare which kept Savoy Medical Center in operation and employment for the citizens.
•Maintains excellent healthcare services at the local hospital.
•Ongoing projects to improve streets and drainage.
•Provides crucial employment and economic stimulus to Mamou and the surrounding areas.
•Developed and upgraded new recreational facilities and parks for public enjoyment.
•Ongoing efforts to address blight and abandoned buildings. This has resulted in abandoned and condemned buildings being demolished.
