VPFD to host Fire Prevention Week Activities for students

In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week (October 3-9), the Ville Platte Fire Department will be welcoming two classes of young students to the Lincoln Road Fire Station on Wednesday, October 6. The first class will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the next class will be held at 10 a.m. Other classes also will be held Thursday and Friday. Students will learn about the importance of staying safe, not playing with fire, and what to do if there is a fire in their home. They will also get a tour of the station and fire trucks to learn how the firemen use the equipment to help keep the community safe from fires.
