Mercy Regional Medical Center releases updated visitation policy

Mercy Regional Medical Center strives to provide high quality care for its patients, visitors, employees, and community. In response to COVID 19, the hospital announces an updated visitor policy effective April 4.
The visitation policy is as follows:
• Non-COVID Patients:
o Emergency Room – two visitors at a time (12 years of age or older)
o Inpatients – two visitors at a time
o Pediatric Patients- two parents/guardians at one time
o ICU – two visitors at a time (12 years of age or older) during ICU visiting hours listed below
o Rehab – two visitors at a time during rehab visiting hours listed below
o Outpatient/Clinic – one essential visitor per patient (two healthy parents/guardians for pediatric patients)
o Freedom Behavioral Unit – two visitors at one time (12 years of age or older) during visiting hours listed below
• COVID + Patients:
One visitor allowed for known or suspected COVID positive patients, except:
o Pediatric Patients- two healthy parents/guardians per patient
o Mentally/Physically Handicapped Patients- two healthy family member per patient
o Critically Ill Patient - two healthy family member per patient
o End of Life Care – Case by Case basis will be taken under advisory
*Essential Visitor- Persons required to be with a patient to complete the visit. A parent of a minor or a caregiver are examples of essential visitors.
*Minors (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult**
**All patients/visitors will be screened by Operator/Registration Staff. We ask all patients/visitors to report to the Operator/Registration Staff upon entering the building. Visitors must be asymptomatic and wear a mask at all times. To conserve supplies, visitors must bring a mask from home.
• ER entrance is open 24 hours a day
• Main lobby is open between 6:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. (Monday- Friday) 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday)
• Visitation Hours:
o General: 6:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
o ICU: 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. - 2 p.m., 6 p.m.- 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
• ICU patient are allowed 1 asymptomatic designated support person to remain with them throughout their stay
o Rehab: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. (Monday- Friday), 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. (Saturdays), 6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. (Sundays)
o Freedom: 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. daily
