The Library Board of Control will meet on Thursday, July 14, at noon in the multipurpose room of the main library in Ville Platte. The agenda is posted on our webpage and on the entry door. The public is invited to attend.

The Evangeline Historical and Genealogical Society will meet on Saturday, July 16, at 9:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room of the main library in Ville Platte. Their guest speak will be Shera Broussard LaPointe who will share DNA stories. The public is invited to attend.
The Turkey Creek branch library will host a Happy Retirement event from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 22, for our longtime fellow employee Tina King. The public is invited to attend to celebrate her 22 years of service!
The new Evangeline Parish Writers Guild will meet on Saturday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the main library to meet and organize. All published authors, aspiring writers, and anyone interested in learning more about the organization is invited.
New: On the last Tuesday of each month, the main library in Ville Platte will host a grief counseling opportunity at 2 p.m. for anyone in need. This counseling will be free of charge and is offered by the Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. The counselor is Delilah Elmore. Next date is Tuesday, July 26, at 2 p.m. in the genealogy room on a first come first serve basis.
