At the Library

More good news to share about what’s going on at your library! We are approaching wedding season, and so many awesome ideas can be discovered through our Flipster Online Magazine app. One magazine for this special occasion is called The Complete Wedding Magazine. For the interest of others, you will find Quilters World, Southern Living, Allrecipes, Birds & Bloom, Pets, This Old House and Zoo Animals Big Coloring Book just to name a few. Please take a look at the variety available! This app is free to the public and can be downloaded on any electronic device.
Easter season is also fast approaching, and here’s what you can look forward to. At the main library, families can take selfies with a unique Easter backdrop. They can also enter a drawing that will end on April 11 to win a special “filled-up Easter basket” for a winner in the kid and adult category, and the Teen Books and Beyond club members can enter an Easter Painting event on April 7 from 4 – 5 p.m. Call for details. The Basile branch library has a digital game table! Be sure to go by and check it out! It has games for everyone, including checkers, Chutes and Ladders, and Scrabble to name a few. For Easter, the kids can look forward to a big surprise including an egg hunt and the Easter Bunny on April 7. Chataignier branch library is offering an “Easter Basket Full of Treats” contest when you check out books. The drawing is on April 13. Mamou branch library is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids on Thursday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m. Find the Golden Egg and win a prize! Also, kids who check out 10 books can get a cool book bag while supplies! Pine Prairie branch library has the Easter Bunny on hand for photos on April 11 at 3:30 p.m. They also host free Bingo every Thursday at 9 a.m., and they have super prizes for the winners. Turkey Creek branch library has cool rewards or Take & Make Kits for kids who check out 10 books. They can also enter a drawing that will end on April 14 for a special filled-up basket for a winner. NOTE: The main library and all branches will be closed on April 15 and 16 for the Easter Holidays.
