The Library Board of Directors and staff send a happy early Valentine’s Day wish to our patrons, young and old, around Evangeline Parish and beyond! The expression of love comes in many, many forms, so be kind to all!
We’re back! This week in Ville Platte the Quilting Club met and got back into its groove, the Mystery Book Club will meet on February 23 to discuss its new book, “The Maidens” by Alex Michaelides. Next week the Medicare Educational opportunity will return, and the new Writing Class offered by Christopher Fontenot at the main library will begin. At the Pine Prairie branch library, the Puzzle Club and its new “Read for a Book Bag” project can begin. At the Basile branch library, the French Table and Story Hour will resume. For specifics, visit our Facebook and webpage.
The interactive Infinity Game Table for all ages at the main library and the Pine Prairie branch library has been a big hit! It has been fun watching kids and families play because it includes an ever expanding library of games and activities like Connect Four, Dominos, Dots and Boxes, Scrabble, Checkers, Chutes and Ladders, Chess, Guess Who?, and coloring programs to name a few! Please visit either the main library or the Pine Prairie branch library and experience digital tabletop gaming!
Thank you to all of the anonymous donors who continue to drop off dog food, blankets, treats, etc. at the main library that go directly to the Ville Platte City Pound. The cold weather brings just as many challenges to the strays that are in temporary care. The branch libraries in Chataignier, Mamou, Pine Prairie and Turkey Creek are drop off points for animals rescued by EPAR.
Early notice: Information about the upcoming Rededication Tax Election that will impact the library system around the parish is posted on our website. Visit www.evangelinelibrary.org to learn more.
