Happy New Year! The Board of Directors and staff from around the Parish wish all of our patrons a healthy, happy, safe, and memorable start to 2022!
The main library and all branches will be closed on Monday, January 3. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, January 4, with, unfortunately, the old mandate of requiring mask wearing and social distancing back in force until further notice. Please understand these measures are for the safety of all.
On a fun note, the main library just received its first interactive game table for all ages! The Infinity Game Table modernizes gameplay, taking play to the next level. A massive, ever expanding library of games and activities like Connect Four, Dominos, Dots and Boxes, Scrabble, Checkers, Chutes and Ladders, Chess, Guess Who?, and coloring and design programs to name a few! Also, music accompanies each game to make it even more fabulous! Please visit and experience the fun of 21st century, interactive table top gameing! We will be setting up one in Pine Prairie too!
Our Turkey Creek branch library will host the traveling exhibit about an endangered species: Whooping Cranes during the month of January! Once thriving, whooping cranes are now the rarest species of crane and North America's most endangered native bird. This traveling exhibit is made possible with generous donors like Chevron, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), The Ladies Club of Lafayette, and Audubon Nature Institute. Come by the library during their regular hours and check out this unique exhibit. Masks will continue to be required.
