Heritage Manor News: Music and it’s magic

The sound of music of any kind will be a sound that most individuals enjoy. Do you ever hear a favorite piece of music that just lifts your spirits or makes you literally get up and dance? At times, music can produce a feeling of well being and send tingling sensations down your spine. This is called Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR).
ASMR is a part of the brain that doesn’t get lost, even to Alzheimer’s Disease. Music decreases anxiety and improves quality of life. Memory-impaired individuals benefit from personalized music choices. Music is used in various programs, including daily group exercise.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Charles Ortego, Rita Robinson and Sheila Deville.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get well wishes to all of our loved ones in the hospital.
Our meal of the month, as chosen by the resident council, will be served on Thursday, August 25. The meal will consist of pork roast, rice and gravy, potato salad, French bread, chocolate pie and lemonade.
This week, we thank all volunteers who have come back to serve our residents. We encourage family members to visit. Remember, Covid is still very active everywhere, so please follow all rules and regulations, such as wearing a mask, washing hands often and keeping our residents safe.
Activities this week include manicures, bingo sponsored by the VFW, pokeno, mass, arts and crafts, jingo, exercise, washer toss, bible study and beauty shop.
