Grand jury returns indictments

After meeting for two days on March 30,2022 and March 31,2022, the Grand
Jury retumed indictments on five cases.
On March 30,2022, the Grand Jury indicted Artay Joseph Lejeune, age 27, of
Jennings, on the charges First Degree Rape (three counts), Oral Sexual Battery (three
counts), and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (two counts). The charges stem from
incidents which occurred on or between December 1,2020 and June 30, 2021. The
Grand Jury also indicted Artay Joseph Lejeune on the charges First Degree Rape
(three counts) and Aggravated Assault (three counts). The charges stem from
incidents which occurred on or between December 15,2020 and March 30,2021 .
Arraignment on these cases is set for April 18,2022, before the Honorable Judge
Chuck West.
On March 31,2022, the Grand Jury indicted Jeremy Jamar Breaux, age 34, of
Duson, on the charges of Second Degree Battery and Domestic Abuse Battery. The
charges stem from an incident which occurred on or about July 18, 2020.
Arraignment on this case is set for April 18,2022, before the Honorable Judge Chuck
West.
On March 31,2022, the Grand Jury indicted Jacquez Compton, age 31, of
Mamou, on the charges of First Degree Rape- Victim Under Age of Thirteen and
Oral Sexual Battery- Victim Under Age 15 and 3 Years Younger than Offender. The
charges stem from an incident which occurred on or between March 9,2019 and
February 1,2022. Arraignment on this case is set for April 18,2022, before the
Honorable Judge Chuck West.
On March 31,2022, the Grand Jury also indicted Tony James Brasseaux, Jr.,
age 30, of Sunset, on the charges of Sexual Battery. The charges stem from an
incident which occurred on or about June 10,2021. Arraignment on this case is set
for April 21,2022, before the Honorable Judge Chuck West.
Assistant District Attorneys, Stan Vidrine, Bo West, and Jacob Fusilier,
represented the State in these matters and presented the cases to the Grand Jury.
District Attorney, Trent Brignac, wishes to thank the members of the Grand
