Gazette to host debate for Ville Platte candidates

The Ville Platte Gazette will hold a political debate for candidates running for mayor and aldermen in the City of Ville Platte.
The debate will be held Thursday, November 3, at 6 p.m. at the Ville Platte Civic Center and will be moderated by Gazette publisher Garland Forman. It will also be livestreamed on the Gazette Facebook page.
Candidates invited to attend include the following:
Mayoral candidates are incumbent, Jennifer Vidrine; and challengers, Karl Bordelon, Renee Brown, and Ryan Leday Williams.
Candidates for alderman in District B are incumbent, Jerry Joseph; and challengers, Anna Frank and Jorie Randle.
Candidates for alderman in District C are Tracey Jagneaux and Shirlene O’Connor.
Candidates for alderman in District D are incumbent, Jordan Anderson; and challengers, Cortez Fontenot, Renaldo Frank, Shawn Roy, and Vashanski “Shanky” Thomas.
Candidates for alderman in District E are incumbent, Christina Sam; and challengers, Earl Edward and Adam Toussaint.
Candidates for alderman in District F are incumbent, Bryant Riggs; and challenger, Leroy Robertson Jr.
The primary election will be held Tuesday, November 8; and the runoff will be December 10.
