VILLE PLATTE - The La. Health and Welfare Access Program provides critical emergency water and wastewater payment support for low-income households, so families are not forced to choose between paying for water services and other necessities such as housing, food, and medicine.
In accordance, the Evangeline Community Action Agency, Inc. is announcing the availability of funds dedicated to assist eligible low-income households with their water and waste water (sewage) payments, to include: households who have been Disconnected, Pending Disconnection, and/or Past Due Amounts. These payments will be utilized to restore or prevent disconnection of services. All applicants must have an active account. All applications are taken on a first come, first serve basis.
Applicants must provide, at a minimum, the following documentation at the time the application is taken: (1) copies of each household member's ACTUAL social security card, (2) current proof(s) of income of all household members, (3) a copy of an water bill dated within the last 30 days, (4) a driver's license or pictured I.D. of the applicant matching the current address, and (5) another bill and/or document matching the address on the water bill, if the driver's license or pictured I.D. is not current.
If it is determined additional documentation is required, the applicant will be notified at the time of application. Households reporting "Zero Income" may be required to provide additional documentation.
All information provided is subject to verification. Intentional misrepresentation of information may result in criminal prosecution of the applicant and anyone assisting in the misrepresentation.
