CASA and SLESAC to host Community Bike Ride Day

VILLE PLATTE - Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of St. Landry-Evangeline Inc. and the St. Landry Evangeline Sexual Assault Center (SLESAC) will be hosting a community bike ride in Ville Platte on Saturday, October 2. The 13th Judicial District Court in Ville Platte is the starting point where all participants will meet. Lineup will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the community bike ride will begin at 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend this event. The community is encouraged to join and invite others to enjoy this event.
The Community Bike Ride serves the purpose of bringing awareness to the community and recognizing those who have been affected by domestic abuse. The event will be recognizing Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, which occurs every year in the month of October. CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline Inc. works to secure safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children by advocating, investigating, and monitoring cases involving children in foster care.
SLESAC works to alleviate the suffering of sexual assault victims and to prevent sexual violence, working to empower the survivor by encouraging them to make their own choices about reporting, prosecution, pregnancy, future safety, and other issues raised by the experience.
