A civil detainee, Santiago Manuel Gasper (DOB: 06/23/2004), a national of Guatemala, escaped from the ICE Facility in Pine Prairie, Louisiana on July 31, 2026 at approximately 1609 hours.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office was notified of the escape at approximately 12:00 AM (midnight). Deputies responded immediately, deploying multiple resources including a thermal drone, a tracking dog, and additional ground units. Despite several hours of searching, the escapee was not located during the initial overnight efforts.
At approximately 7:45 AM, EPSO received a report of a Hispanic male running south on 5th Street in Pine Prairie, wearing a white t‑shirt and white shorts. The caller stated the sighting occurred at approximately 1630 hours on Friday, July 31, 2026.
ICE has confirmed that Gasper is not considered dangerous, has no known criminal history, and is classified as a Civil Detainee.
