Youths learn of endangered species

As part of its summer program, the Evangeline Parish Library hosted Brittany Palode, with the International Crane Foundation, for an exciting program where children learned about the world of whooping cranes through stories and craft projects. The program was held on June 30 in Turkey Creek and Ville Platte, on July 1 in Pine Prairie and Mamou, and on July 2 in Basile and Chataignier. Pictured above is Palode as she demonstrates how a crane feeds on a crawfish. (Gazette photo by Tony Marks)
