The Turkey Creek Christmas parade was held Saturday, December 21 at 11 a.m. It ended in Drouet Park were there were food booths, games and also drawings for free turkeys. Winners were: float division- first place was The Lighthouse Church (pictured in the top photo) and second place was Turkey Creek Church of Christ; vehicle/marching division- first place was Hazelton’s Paint & Body Shop and second place was Bayou Chicot Elementary Cheerleaders; recreational vehicles division- first place was Cody Crawford and second place was Tristan Crawford; classic car division- First place was Tyler West and second place was Bonnie Soileau. Juanita Rosenboom served as the grand marshal. On the following day, December 22, No Limit and Big Block Stables held a Christmas Toy Drive at the Celestine Center in Mamou. The toys were donated in part by Ed Oliver. Free toys, gumbo for the community, drinks, and games were provided. Santa Claus was also on site.
