Foundation celebrates MLK Jr. Day

The Evangeline Parish Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation, held its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on Monday, January 19. The day began with a parade that went from Ville Platte City Hall to Ninth Missionary Baptist Church. A program was then held at the church that honored the life and legacy of Dr. King. During the program, students from Save Our Community Kids Adventure Camps (SOCKAC) presented a dramatization, and Ville Platte native Montrevas Cullivan, head baseball coach of Prairie View A&M University, served as the guest speaker. Also, during the program, Reverend Jermaine Tezeno, chairman, presented humanitarian awards to GDC Cooking Team and Linda Fontenot.
