According to Ville Platte Chief of Police Al Perry Thomas, on February 6, officers with his department responded to several shots being fired on the east side of the city. Officers were given a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was a silver Impala that was occupied by four male subjects.
Officers then located the vehicle, but the occupants of the vehicle led the officers on a pursuit. During the pursuit, three passengers exited the vehicle. The driver then continued until he reached a residence located on the 100 block of East Washington Street.
The driver was then identified as Braylon Wilson, who had an active warrant for second-degree murder through the Ville Platte Police Department. The suspect was taken into custody and had a bond set at $3 million.
One of the victims, who was pursued by Wilson and the other three suspects and shot at repeatedly on the night of February 6, was able to identify all of the parties in the vehicle.
As a result, Wilson as well as the other suspects currently have active warrants through the Ville Platte Police Department for attempted first-degree murder. Wilson also currently has a secondary bond set at $1,357,500.
