Suspects are arrested for theft of catalytic converters

On January 14, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1000 Block of Black
Lake Rd. in reference to a report of catalytic converter thefts. During the investigation, two suspects were identified as a
Brock Fontenot out of Turkey Creek and Billy Joe Byrd out of Ville Platte. One of the suspects admitted to the thefts and
were later placed under arrest and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for theft and felony criminal damage to
property. Both suspects are being help with a $27,500.00
