Search Warrant Yields Large Amount Of Narcotics

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on a truck, on
the 10 th of August 2021 on Armand Street in Ville Platte. The agents made contact with the driver and
smelled a strong odor of Marijuana coming from his person. The agents called for the K-9 Diego, once
he was on scene, he conducted a free air sniff of the out side of the truck and alerted on the presence
of possible narcotics. The agents then searched the truck and found narcotics, guns and U S currency
This then led to agents obtaining a search warrant for a residence located at 117 Armand Street Ville
Platte. Once agents and Deputies entered the entered the residence, they located more narcotics and
weapons. This led to the arrest of the following people. One who was a corrections officer working for
Ville Platte Police Department at the time of her arrest.

Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana over 20 grams
Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine over 3.5 ounces
Possession with intent to distribute Fentanyl over 21.8 grams
Possession with intent to distribute Estacy over 59 pills
Possession of PCP
Possession of Oxycodone
Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS
Possession of a firearm by a convicted Felon

She was charged with
Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana over 20 grams
Possession with intent to distribute Fentanyl over 3.5 ounces
Possession with intent to distribute Estacy over 59 pills

Possession of drug Paraphernalia
Malfeasance in Office

Also, on the 11 th of August the Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on another vehicle. The
driver of the vehicle gave permission to search, agents then located narcotics hidden under the hood.
This led to the following arrest.

Possession of Heroin 1 gram
Possession of Fentanyl 1 gram
