MPD reports recent arrests

Christopher L Montelone, 48, of 121 Railroad ave Mamou, was arrested for Attempted Second degree Murder on June 9, 2023, after an earlier altercation with Dusty Bordelon over lawn equipment, escalated. Montelone used his vehicle as a weapon striking Dusty throwing him several feet into the air. The incident was witnessed, as it occurred, by an off duty Evangeline Parish Sheriff Deputy. Christopher Montelone has an extensive criminal history for violent offenses.

On July 13, 2023, the Mamou Police department arrested Jonas Wayne Patin, 36, of Wooddale blvd, Baton Rouge, incident to a traffic stop, for illegal tent, for driving under suspension, simple possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer. He was booked into the Mamou Jail where he later posted bond. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
