The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Arrested were the following persons:
•Joseph A. Fontenot, 56, Mamou, was arrested May 14, 2026, for possession or dealing in unregistered or illegally transferred weapons. Fontenot remains incarcerated on a $125,000.00 bond.
