Couple is arrested for theft of Dixie Youth funds

On July 19, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a theft from the Pine
Prairie Dixie Youth Baseball Organization. During the investigation it was discovered that two members of the Dixie
Youth Baseball Board were using the Dixie Youth debit card to make multiple transactions at several different casinos in
Louisiana. These transactions took place for several months and had obtained approximately $3,400.00. When
questioning the suspect they admitted to obtaining the money and had spent it at the casinos. Both suspects were
arrested for felony theft and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail with a $10,000.00 bond. All suspects are innocent
until proven guilty in a court of law.
