The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on July 29, received a call from the Cabot Corporation advising that an unknown male contacted them by phone text messaging and indicating there was a bomb located on the property.
During the investigation, detectives were able to determine the message was sent by cell phone. Once learning the phone number of where the message originated, detectives were able to prove the phone number belonged to Heath Morris Cintron, of Eunice (W/M DOB 06/09/1974).
Once the suspect was identified, detectives learned the suspect was previously employed with Cabot Corporation but was terminated for sleeping while at work. As soon as detectives learned that Cintron was the suspect for the bomb threat, an arrest warrant was issued for communicating of false information of planned arson. His bond was set at $15,000.00.
On November 16, Cintron was located by State Police in Rapides Parish and was arrested for the warrant. He was booked into the Evangeline Parish and charged with communicating of false information of planned arson.
In a separate incident, on November 3, deputies responded to the 2000 Blk. of W. Main St. in reference to a stolen ATV. When speaking with the victim, it was advised that the stolen ATV had multiple tracking devices on it and that they were alerting him that the stolen ATV was located in the 300 Blk. of Enola St.
At that time, deputies went to the location of the stolen ATV. Upon arrival, they located the stolen ATV behind a storage shed. While on scene, detectives observed what appeared to be another ATV inside of the shed. Detectives then obtained written permission to search the property, located the second ATV, and confirmed that it was also stolen.
During the investigation, detectives learned the subject in possession of the stolen ATVs is Jaquan Lavergne (B/M DOB 10/13/2005). Once learning of this information, the suspect was questioned at the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he admitted to being in possession of the stolen ATVs but would not reveal how they were obtained. The suspect was subsequently arrested on November 16 and charged with two counts of possession of stolen things. His bond was set at $30 thousand, and he is currently being held in the Evangeline Parish Jail.
