Chief A. Perry Thomas reports an arrest has been made in a case of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder which occurred March 17, 2025, in Ville Platte. A warrant was issued for Devontae Ardoin. He was located by Texas law enforcement near Beaumont on August 3 and transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility to be processed for an extradition hearing. He was picked up August 13 by Ville Platte police, transported back to Evangeline Parish, and booked into the parish jail. Ardoin is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
