Alleged growth and cultivation of marijuana lead to arrests

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office releases the following:

On the 5 th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Departments Narcotics and Patrol Division
executed a search warrant on residence located at 3197 US HWY 167 north. Upon Agents arriving at
the scene, they made contact with the home owner and several occupants inside. The Agents advised
of their reason for being there. Once the search was completed the following were arrested

On the 8 th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Departments Criminal Patrol Unit were in the
Lanse Meg area. They stopped a car for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the occupants,
they could smell marijuana coming from the car. Consent to search was given and narcotics were
located.

On the 9 th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Departments Criminal Patrol Unit stopped a
car on Vidrine Road for a traffic violation. When Agents made contact with the occupants it was
discovered that both subjects had active warrants. When Agents went to pat down the passenger he
admitted to having Marijuana in his pants pocket, a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the
discovery of more narcotics and the following were arrested.

On the 9 th of October 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Departments Narcotics Division along with
the Patrol division, executed a search warrant at a residence on South Chataignier street. This
stemmed from many complaints and weeks of surveillance. Agents entered the residence and located
an indoor Marijuana growth and other illegal narcotics. This resulted in the following.
