With the announcement by Governor John Bel Edwards that state schools will be closed for the remainder of the semester, new online resources for continuous learning in English/ Language Arts and Math are now being posted on the EPSB website for Evangeline parish students. These assignments address standards that are important for success so that students will be better prepared for the next school year.
Parents are encouraged to help their children work through the lessons and contact their teachers via email for assistance.
High school students should also be working on their Edgenuity classes to advance their progress. Students who are in need of extra grade recovery assignments are being contacted by their teachers starting this week.
The Evangeline Parish School District launched its Continuous Online Learning on Monday, April 20. Lessons and support materials are provided under each grade band. Parents/guardians and students can access Online Learning Materials by visiting www.epsb.com and click on the Continuous Learning Link.
Teachers began virtual office hours on Monday, April 20, and will continue until the end of this school year. They will hold office hours to answer questions parents/guardians and students may have about assignments, etc. Teachers will be notifying parents of specific times that they will be available.
Employees of the district will use various communication platforms to provide educational support to Parents/Guardians and students. Examples, phone calls, Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, Remind, Groupme, ClassDojo, and Zoom.
