St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rayne provided the setting for a lovely 6:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, June 8, 2019, uniting Miss Bridget Marie Bercier and Jacob Spencer Ardoin in Holy Matrimony, with Father Kevin Bordelon officiating and several other priests who are friends of both families concelebrating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Bercier III of Roberts Cove. The groom is the son of Dr. Gregory and Mrs. Erin Ardoin of Lafayette.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her trumpet-style white lace fitted gown with a boat neck top. Her tulle veil was her mother’s, and her pearl earrings were from the groom.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, calla lillies, babies breath, and eucalyptus. A crystal Rosary from the bride’s mother was entwined in the bouquet.
Ann Claire Joseph (twin sister of the bride), of Dallas, served as matron of honor for the special occasion; and Tess Bercier (sister of the bride), of Lafayette, served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Elizabeth, Anne Christian, and Mary Claire Ardoin (sisters of the groom); Sarah Chustz and Jori Bercier (nieces of the bride), all of Lafayette; and Caroline Stearns (niece of the bride), of Eunice.
They wore floor length gowns of lavender tulle featuring a sweetheart neckline with sheer illusion gathered at the neck.
Taylor Ardoin (brother of the groom), of Baton Rouge, served as best man for the evening ceremony.
Groomsmen were John Paul Bercier (brother of the groom), of Baton Rouge; Alex Sylvester, Zac Ardoin, Spencer Bordelon, and Ian O’Neill, all of Lafayette; Ryan Buller and Derek Fontenot, both of Ville Platte; and Tripp George, of Houston.
Ushers were Braxton Callon, of Haiti; Chris Hayerwas, Eric Miller, Dane Adams, all of Lafayette; and Jacob Bonvillain, of Shreveport.
Seven of the bride’s nieces and nephews were flower girls and ring bearers, and two nieces followed the bride holding the train.
For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother was attired in a champaign floor length trumpet-style silk gown with hand sewn floral jacket.
The groom’s mother chose a slate blue floor length gown featuring an embroidered capped sleeve and bodice with a chiffon skirt.
A reception followed at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne. Table decorations were antique blue and white vases and urns adorned with sunflowers, blue hydrangeas, and white roses
Following a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple has made their home in Shreveport.
