Swamp Pop Museum celebrates 15 years

The Louisiana Swamp Pop Museum celebrated its 15th anniversary on Friday, September 26, with an annual open house from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Several Swamp Pop legends were in attendance to reminisce about the past and celebrate Swamp Pop’s future.

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - A total of 67 votes have been cast as of close of business on Tuesday, September 30. Of those votes, 15 were White, 51 were Black, 29 were male, 38 were female, 53 were Democrats, four were Republicans, 47 were in person, and 20 were absentee.

On September 5th, 2025, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Fuselier Road of a person trespassing on their property. When Deputies arrived on the scene, they observed 3 vehicles parked in the road, with 2 blocking one from leaving.
