The Evangeline Parish Library kicked off its Summer Reading program with a performance from the Morgan City native Elizabeth Vidos (also known as Lady Chops), who has performed for 10 years in New

Ninety-five graduating seniors received their diplomas from Ville Platte High School at the school’s 52nd commencement exercises. Raymond Aucoin, parish school superintendent, delivered the principle address. Superintendent LeRoy Soileau took part in the program, and the actual diplomas were awarded by Principal Yves Soileau. Class valedictorian was Judith Fuselier, and Darryl McManus was the salutatorian. Large numbers of parents, relatives, and friends were present for the colorful exercises.

Come Lord Jesus! groups hold anniversary mass

Catholic lay people from across Ville Platte and Pine Prairie gathered Wednesday evening at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center for an anniversary mass of the Come Lord Jesus!
