Prejudice, in any culture, is a disruptive concept, and it goes against the very nature of God who made all things and all people. When God made man, He looked and said it was “good.” No colore differentiation was made at that time. He was talking about man in general. Peter learned this lesson the hard way, but he finally came to the realization God is not prejudiced, for it is written in Acts 10:34 (KJV), “...Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”
Those of us who claim Christ as our savior must also put aside any feelings of prejudice towards anyone based on whatever criteria: race, religion, ethnic background, economics etc. How can we claim to be ambassadors for Christ and yet ignore any segment of the creation He made and went to the cross for? 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) states, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” That word “any” is all inclusive. Every human being, regardless of how we regard them, is a precious soul to the Lord. He sees what we cannot see, the possibility of each life. It is a slap in the face of God when we look down on any of His creation. All life is precious to the Lord, and everyone should be treated by the same standards we would want for ourselves. Let’s learn to dignify all life.
