Minister’s Corner: God is our sufficiency

Paul said in Philippians 1:19-21 (KJV), “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Here we have the words of a man who realized that his strength came not from within himself, but from God. Paul wrote in Philippians not as one complaining or whimpering; not as one defeated, bust as a victor knowing that the worst that the Romans could do to him would only hasten his appearance before his beloved Christ.
We too have the same assurance of the sufficiency of God. We have the support of our fellow Christian brothers and sisters in the church, sympathizing in our afflictions and lifting us in prayer. They are a gift of God. Let us not take them for granted, but we also have the strength and power resident in us as we allow the Holy Spirit to dwell and guide us.
Today, we see God as the God of sufficiency and know that whatever your problems or sorrows, your joys or happiness, it’s all for the glory of God.
